The Gulkana Community Wildfire Protection Plan (Gulkana CWPP) is a collaborative effort between Ahtna, AITRC, Native Village of Gulkana, the State of Alaska DNR Forestry, BLM and the National Park Service. This CWPP attempts to fully understand the risk of wildfire on the Gulkana community and appropriately mitigate future wildfire hazards. In order to accomplish this, a thorough analysis and risk assement was conducted regarding Gulkana village values, current and future community development, and surrounding land use.
